Lanark Best of 2019 - Service Buses

Lanark Photo: a fantastic Lanark Photograph Featuring Best of 2019 - Service Buses

Photograph Taken On Monday, December 23, 2019

Offside view of the Hutchison’s of Overtown “Buggy Bus” in the later Golden Jubilee livery, where the dark blue skirt was raised and Jubilee wording had been removed. Alongside sits another “Low Floor Easy Access” bus, this time of McKindless, Newmains. McKindless were by far the company I happened to travel most with, which is why I have built up a fair sized fleet of models based on them. This was purely because I was living in Shotts at the time, the furthest East which; McKindless, Kelvin Central, KCB Network, First Kelvin, First Greater Glasgow and now First Lanarkshire would operate. I would however regularly see them when travelling through to Wishaw, Motherwell, Hamilton etc and admired how well turned out their drivers and buses were, and how professional they looked. This, alongside the challenge of this limited use livery, was what motivated me to attempt what I now present. I hope that seeing my models might bring about some nostalgia, and that you enjoy viewing them. I certainly enjoyed making them.View image on Flickr
