Edinburgh Photo: a fantastic Edinburgh Photograph Featuring Borders Buses 11622 at Surgeons’ Hall, Edinburgh.

Photograph Taken On Tuesday, July 7, 2020

Fleet number 11622 in this highly visible livery, was seen on Nicolson Street passing the Ionic columns of Surgeons’ Hall. The vehicle was working the X62 route from Edinburgh to Peebles and Galashiels Interchange and is decked out in this special livery to promote the MND charity, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. The charity was founded by the former rugby player, Doddie Weir OBE, who has been diagnosed with the condition. The Edinburgh terminus for this bus service is currently Waterloo Place rather than the bus station. The picture was taken on day 106 of the Coronavirus lockdown. Centre left with dome is the University of Edinburgh’s Old College while in the distance is the spire of the former Tron Kirk where the High Street crosses North Bridge. Surgeons’ Hall is the home of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was designed by William Henry Playfair and completed in 1832. RCSEd can trace its history back to 1505.View image on Flickr
