Firth of Tay Two Thousand Acres of Sky

Firth of Tay Photo: a fantastic Firth of Tay Photograph Featuring Two Thousand Acres of Sky

Photograph Taken On Saturday, June 15, 2019

Having just departed from Dundee station, a LNER HST climbs towards the high girders of the Tay Bridge while working the 9.52am Aberdeen - London Kings Cross (1E15) express. The incline is quite noticeable from this side-on shot, as are the remnants of the piers from the first bridge that collapsed on the night of 28th December 1879, resulting in the loss of a train and the seventy-five passengers and crew aboard it. The title is reference to a rather whimsical BBC TV series that aired between 2001 and 2003. Based on the fictional island of Ronansay, located off the coast of Skye, it featured Michelle Collins and Paul Kaye. 11.11am, 15th June 2019View image on Flickr
